Johnny Depp Is a Hero
Being a hero takes a lot of guts, and celebrities are considered heroes as well as police or fire men are in reality. Heroes are role models, such as celebrities, that risk their lives for others and care for them as well. One celebrity that shows this kind of behavior is Johnny Depp, a Holly Wood actor, and demonstrates this in various ways. Johnny Depp is considered a hero for the things he has done for others, being a respectful person, and loving and caring for others.
Johnny Depp is considered a hero because he saved 6 people’s lives. Johnny was making some scenes for a new movie that was coming up soon, and a stunt driver accidently sped up. There were 6 others that were turned around, facing another way, and [he]”slammed into the group… shoving them all back.” According to Holly Scoop, “an eyewitness tells British news, News of the World, that this had taken place.” This shows that he is a hero and cares for other people as well.
Another way he shows heroism is by caring for children especially if they are in a hospital. Children need love and someone to care for them, and Johnny shows that he cares for a 17-year-old that was in a coma for five months. According to Look to The Stars, “he was her favorite actor… and her parents hoped that the recorded message [Johnny gave her as a gift]
Rodriguez 2
would help her wake up.” This was really touching to him and other celebrities as well, so they all helped and cooperated to help other children that were in a coma.
Johnny is a very respectful man due to his polite behavior with other people and professionals. In addition, this shows how he acts or is like, his personality, with other people around him including strangers. An example of this kind of behavior is when he compared a photo-shoot to being raped. According to hollyscoop.com, [he] “doesn’t like photo-shoots at all…it’s almost like being raped…” He also mentioned that [he was] “truly sorry for offending anyone in any way […] I am regretful […] please accept my heartfelt apology.” This concludes that he is respectful and cares about what he says to others.
In conclusion, Johnny is a celebrity that’s considered a hero due to his good personality. Apologizing in front of the interviewers, giving a gift to a girl that was in a coma, and saving 6 people’s life is being heroic. These are some of the things that Johnny has demonstrated to the world, and what a good hero looks like. He is a celebrity that is considered a hero due to all of these things and by being a sweet heart to every one including respecting him and others.

What I did today & rating (1-10)
I finished with all of my slides, but the only thing I need to do is add transitions to the slides due to some difficulties at my house. This will be done as quickly as possible durring class.
I think I did a really good job in keeping my project simple and easy to remember. Therefore, I rated myself with a 9 because of meeting my expectations and finishing the project on time. I think that my project had enough color, pictures, and simplicity, so I think I do deserve a 9.

Create
Today, I will try to finish my slide show as soon as possible to be able to go to the next stage; evaluate. I will paste pictures to the slides that describe the stage & add transitions as well.
I rated myself with a 7 because I didn't do anything in my slide show but look for pictures. This happened because I forgot my USB & don't have it saved to the desktop. Theregore, I gave myself a 7 due to my progress of pictures, but not of doing somehting on the slide show. I will work on this at home to have my slide show complete by the due date.

Design I will use
I will use the second design I chose to do because I think its better to have pictures on the background and the word on top to be more creative.
Wednesday, October 5, 2011
My 3 DESIGNS
I am going to describe what the stage is (investigate, plan, create, evaluate) & put a picture or image that describes or relaates to it. I'm going to do this by breaking the word down (such as investigate; in for internet; s for solve "t" the problem; etc.).
Another design I wanted to do was puting pictures that describe the criterion as a background and the word on top of the pictures. This will help the 6th graders to remember the design cycle better and relate other things with it to remember it as well.
A third design I wanted to do is put the pictures on top and the word on the bottom of the text. In other words, I'm going to describe what you need to do in the criterion and put the picture that best describes it on top. This will give the 6th graders an understanding of what the criterion is about.

Powerpint Chart
MEASUREMENT SCORE (1-10)
TRANSITIONS 10
COLOR 7
INFORMATION 9
TOTAL 26
I rated powerpint this way because it has more description than slide show. I think it's good to show the info needed, but I also think examples can help too. Such as pictures or designs so that 6th grade can remember or memorize the design cycle. Therefore, I chose slide show because I htink it would be more effective.

MEASUREMENT SCORE (1-12)
TRANSITIONS 10
COLOR 8

TOTAL 30
I chose slide show because I thnk it's a more simple and fun way to learn the design cycle.
I chose this simplicity because I think that the more simple it is, the better they understand. Therefore, they'll learn the design cycle better in an awesome and fun way. I used google and wikipedia to research about slide shows and power points.

power point
MEASUREMENT SCORE (1-10)
TRANSITIONS 10
COLOR 7
INFORMATION 9
TOTAL 26
1. I gave transitions a 10 on the pwerpoint chart because a powerpoint has or can have the same thing like in a slide show. Transitions make the power point seem interesting, as well as a slide show, so I rated transitions the same way. In addition, I think that transitions would look better in a slide show because it seems more stylish and cool.
2. I rated color with a 7 because a powerpoint has color as well, but not as much as it is with a slide show. It has more information with clolor, but doesn't have slides that have colorful letters and pictures or images like a slide show does. In addition, I think that color is used more in a slide show rather than in a power point. Therefore, I think that a 7 is more adequit for color in a power point like I mentioned before.
3. Another thing I included in the chart was information; and rated it with a 9 because a powerpint has more info than a slide show would have. Therefore, I think that it would be better to use a slide show to teach the 6th greade the design cycle. By this, I mean that its good to use info, but could be better to demonstrate it to them by using pictures that relate to the design cycle process. This gives me a total of 26 points on the powerpoint chart.

slide show
MEASUREMENT SCORE (1-12)
TRANSITIONS 10
COLOR 8
PICTURES 12
TOTAL 30
1. I gave transitions a 10 because I think that there should be more info as well as pictures to describe the design cycle as well. I also thout that it will make my presentation more cool and attractive.
2. I gave color an 8 because to decorate the slides you have to have color added, and it also makes it more attractive. Another reason for rating color this way was because a plain slide show without color isn't an interesting slide show. I thought that it might decorate it to look nicer as well.
3. Pictures and images are what I'm going to use to teach them about the design cycle and to maintain the info. Pictures help you get an idea of what someone is talking about; on this case I'm talking about the design cycle. Therefore, I gave pictures and images a 12 and is equal to a total of 30 points which I also stated on the chart.

1. What is the problem you need to solve? Explain to a 6th grader what the design cycle is all about by creating a presentation. (3d, PPT, movie, game, Poster)
2. How does the Design Cycle apply to the real world? Engineers &architects can use the design cycle to stay on track to know if something works.
3. How will this project serve my community? This project will help the community to learn or review the Design Cycle.
4. How can my learning help my community? My learning helps my community to stay on topic & do a great job in doing the Design Cycle.
5. How do we live in relation to each other? We live in relation to each other by helping & cooperating on things.
6. How does this help others? This helps others because we can learn how to solve problems & find a solution to something.
7. What are the requirements for this assignment? We should explain the design cycle by creating a presentation w/ details.
8. What is the Design Cycle? The design cycle is a circle that we use to find a problem & solve it by creating a plan, designing it, & evaluate it to make sure if it works.
REFLECT on your learning.
Day 2
9. Spend one day experimenting with DESIGN CYCLE your presentation. List five things your learned about the Design Cycle:
Day 3
Design Brief
10. Write a short statement of what you are going to make, why you are going to make it, and for whom you are making it. I'm going to make a slide show w/pictures to help the 6th graders learn the design cycle better and in a much easyer way.
Formulate a Design Specification
11. What are the requirements for this assignment? I have to create a presentation to help the 6th graders learn the design cycle in a simple way & at the same time, I go thruogh the design cycle.
12. What are the limitations you have with this assignment? The limitations of this assignment are to not spend a lot of time on the design part of the design cycle & not use something dificult for the presentation.
13. How will you "test" your presentation? I'll test my presentation by asking a 6th grader what they think about my project and how/what can I change to make it better.
REFLECT ON YOUR LEARNING
PLAN:
14. Brainstorm ideas. Use the chart below
15. What idea did you choose to demonstrate the design cycle and why did you choose it?
16. Does your idea meet all of the requirements?
